Goodbye to Big red

Hello folks,

After running around for almost 15 years in my 1998 F150 longbed, I decided it was time for an upgrade. Big Red was a good old truck with 181k miles and the only problem I ever had was a starter five years ago. My upgrade is a 2011 3.7L Crew cab. Driving the truck for exactly one month today and I have 1200 miles on it.

I love the new truck but I wanted to give Big Red his much deserved farewell. Will post pics of the new ride soon, for now here is Big Red, see ya buddy !!!

Those were some good rigs. I had my 97 XLT for 9 years and 170k miles. I never had any major problems with it. I just did regular maintanance and replaced normal wear items but she never broke down and left me stranded. Even though the 97-03's don't compare to the new trucks in looks, comfort or power I still kind of miss it.

Good luck with your new truck and post up some pics.

Glad you had good luck with the '98. That's a great looking truck.

I had a '98, wich I was very fond of. I only had it for 4 1/2 years. I would have been sad to see it go but I traded it for an '04 Lightning. I've since traded a few times.

You should have good luck with the 2011, as long as you don't plan on breaking any land speed records. I've had my 2011, 3.7 for a year now and have been happy with it.

Welcome to F150 Online!
