Making or buying splash / water Cover for COP coil plug area 04-08 f150 4.6 ( misfire
Hi. Have an 08 4.6 that I have battled misfiring on cylinders 7 and 8. Lots of great threads on diagnosing and addressing misfiring. My question is: looking for ideas, feedback, or concerns on potentially making (or buying, but I didn't t find anything) a simple 'cover' that would help deflect water or debris from entering COP / sparkplug well area. Im thinking of using some scrap epdm rubber roofing material as crude little deflection 'cover'. Anyone here done something like this? |
Have you tried using dielectric grease at the top of the boots?

Wd-40
Remove COP'S and spray WD-40 down spark plug well, coat boot and coil and allow an hour to dry. COP'S should be water resistant for a few months at least.
