Trans Fault warning came on first time about 3 days ago. each day first run of the day the light comes on when stoping about 2-3 miles into the trip. Then for the rest of that drive it seems fine no light. Trans seems to be working fine. fluids good, if anything a bit too much fluid. just past the full mark by about an inch. Truck has only about 55,000 miles, had trans serviced at about 45,000 just because it was 10 years old. anyone know if I am looking at electrical problem or actually have a transmission problem?

 

Get the transmission codes read by a scanner and post them.

 

If it's overfilled, you need to remove the excess fluid. Check it when it's hot in Park with the engine running.
