LED Headlights

Any recommendations for LED replacements for 2005 F150 9008 (H13) headlight bulbs.

I wouldn't bother unless you change your headlight housings to a projector style. The reflector bowl in the stock housings are not designed to project LED bulbs correctly. It will scatter the light all over the place and will not be effective. I bought a set for my truck after getting some LED's for my wifes explorer and had terrific results. When I put them in my truck it was terrible, that's when I researched it and found this information out. Sorry to burst your bubble. Your best bet is to get a good set of HID's.

I got these back in January 2018 and they have been working fine for me.

Plug and play on my head lights. Got the fog lights too and very happy with them.

Good luck!

He has a 2005, you got a 2013. Different headlight housings.

I personally don't like messing with headlights because it really turns into a big safety concern.

I'd rather have stock headlights than someone getting blinded and running into me head on because they got blinded.

I know around in my neck of the woods, they have cracked down on modified headlights.

Now they just need to crack down on "1 lighted wonders" and folks that drive around at 4am pitch black with no headlights on. Or even better, 4 am pouring rain, pitch black, with no headlights on. I just don't get it... how do you drive around with no street lighting, in pouring rain, with no headlights?!

I did have to adjust the aim of them down some. Didn't know that they were different for a 2005?

I installed dual color H13 LED. Work great for me. Low Beam is daylight color. High Beam is amber.

Mitch, When I converted to LED, the bulbs caused some really strange effects; the high-beam indicator glowed even when low beams were on and the factory fog lamps didn't light. The auto-on still worked, but was not a plug-n-play, all for an '07 F150 FX4 if you left the original incandescent fog lamps, did you have an odd behavior??

Hey CB, I also did the LED fogs too. I have not experienced any of that with mine. When I do put the high beams on, it changes the light pattern a little, but does not really change much, but I find I don't really need to use it anymore anyway.

I don't use the auto light feature because I park the truck in a garage and they turn on when I park it or leave it. Would rather not have them just switching on/off all the time.

Good luck!

If you must have LED headlights. I would spend the extra money for a quality set from f150leds.com. I bought some cheap leds off of Amazon last year that burned my fuse box on my 2005. Don't ask me how it did it, but I had no power to the fuse for the driver side headlight. I had to buy another fuse box off ebay for $80.

Every lamp on my F-150 has been exchanged for LED. Headlight, Fog Light, markers, high mount cab, interior, signals.....only problem that I had was with the signal lights. Exchanged the relay to an LED relay, and everything has functioned perfectly since. Every lamp I bought was something inexpensive on amazon.com. Including my "cheap" LED light bar.
