Has anyone swapped a 2009-2013 5.4 into a 2004-2008 F150

I have searched left and right and can't seem to find a definitive answer as to whether you can swap a later 5.4 into our trucks. I know that the computer(s) would be different because 2009 and up 5.4s came with six speed transmissions, but I would think that I could swap over my intake, wiring, and PCM and continue running my four speed transmission. Can anyone confirm or deny? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Use your computer. The engine should be almost plug and play.

Thanks for responding. That's what I'm thinking, but of course, the salvage yards that I have called say they don't interchange, so I'm just seeking confirmation before pulling the trigger on one.

I don't know for absolutely sure, but I would think a 09/10 engine out of a F150 (and possibly a Super Duty) should work, as would a 09-14 out of an Expedition or Navigator. Van engines won't, those are all 2 valve.

You may need to transfer some components.

That's my thinking as well.
