2007 5.4 Cylinder head removal

I need to remove the cylinder head for this truck. I purchased a Haynes manual and have been watching youtube videos on taking the components off of the engine. Can anyone give any tips or tricks to follow in doing this job. I know it is a massive undertaking but I have the tools to do it.

Thanks

Why do you need to remove it?

I need to remove it because the spark plug on the passenger side at the firewall couldn't be removed and it ended up falling into the cylinder bore. What happened was the local Ford dealer tried to remove the spark plugs. They broke 7 out of 8 of them and couldn't remove the last one and they decided to walk away from it without fixing it and they said that they didn't have a technician on staff that was qualified to pull the cylinder head. So, this isn't my truck but my fathers and I am trying to help him out.

I'd expect them to pay and send it to a competent shop. Dang.

I know I figured that they would help him out. When I talked to the service manager, he told me that my father assumed all of the risk when he brought the truck in. Also, they broke the fuel pressure switch on the fuel rail while they were doing this. They charged him $800 and wouldn't cut him a break at all. He also had to pay to have it towed back home. They wouldn't let him have the truck back until he paid. The really bad part out of this is that they tried to sell him a new truck and they offered him $2500 trade in on a new truck. My father asked if they could do better than that and the salesman replied that his truck doesn't run, so that's all the better they would do. The truck ran when he dropped it off and they couldn't fix it and they said that to him.

Someone needs to make some phone calls and file a formal complaint

Wow! That is very scary!

Very shill way of trying to get your dad to buy a new truck.

I've seen and heard of this before... but usually not from full scale dealers.
