#6 Fuse keeps blowing, instrument panel is out. I have replaced the rheostat switch. I am stuck. Any suggestions?

Upon further disassembly, when I took the panel off for the stereo. The connector to the fan control speed looks melted. I have disconnected the rheostat switch, and unplugged the fan control speed connector. F6 is not blowing. Am I going to have to take the entire dashboard out to continue trouble shooting?
