POLL: Which pushbutton start?

I have it all wired up, just need to put in the button.

I have 2 options I like, posting a poll for second opinions:

1)Use regular cigarette lighter as the push button, looks stock just push it in to start the truck(this has been done, there is a how-to somewhere). Looks cool, no one would know how to start the truck besides me. Not lighted.

2)Rip out the cigarette lighter and use that hole for an aftermarket switch, here is the one I like so far. This would make is "easier" for someone besides me to figure out how to start the truck. Light will be backlit with OEM instrument panel lighting.

Which way would you go?

I have the cigarette lighter one done in my truck, trips people out, haha. I also put in a switch so I can flip it back and have the ignition still work.

Cool, thanks for the video. I was thinking about doing the override switch but decided against it for now, maybe I'll do it, maybe not...............

I did it slightly different then the how-to article, I used a relay to switch power to the starter and my switch just switches ground to the relay coil. I didn't know how many amps are pushing through that circuit, but they are large wires didn't want to chance any problems.

You have one of it starting with the lighter?

Never had a problem with it, I bought a switch that was meant for starting so the internals were stout enough. Your ignition already goes through a relay to the starter so there isn't really a need to add another one.

Edit: Whoops posted the same video twice, fixed it now.

Another option, S2000 start button looks nice:

I've thought about a push button where the coin holder is. The lighter socket is trick though. eBay has a bunch like the s2000, prolly easier to mount and wire. I'm confused on the wiring though...

I like the cig lighter version because you can remove the lighter to have another layer of security that a thief would have to figure out.

I did the cig lighter setup on mine, also included the hidden valet switch for leaving it at the dealership or when someone borrows it.
