I found this disconnected and covered in oil under the engine. There are two rubber ends with the white connection in between. It looks like it's been torn apart on one end. I tried reconnecting but I don't think the connections are supposed to separate. Probably need a new connection.

Any idea what it's for and would it being disconnected cause the engine to shudder and stall when idling?

Looks like a vacuum line, possibly IWE but can't tell 100%.

Does one end lead down to the wheel hub, and the other end lead to a solenoid on the passenger side firewall?

Also looks like all you need to fix that is a rubber inline fitting, they should be at Pep Boys with the vacuum line parts..........

I think the IWE is the only system to use those skinny lines...

I would think that unless it is on the vent side that one IWE would be engaged and be a little noisey?

Not sure exactly where both ends go but they do go to each side of the engine. I'll do some more digging now that I have an idea of what it might be. Thanks for the help.
