Radio install questions

I have tried to search for the answers I am looking for, I am sure they have been asked before but I am probably just using the wrong wording or something.

I am going to replace the factory standard 6 disk cd player in my truck with a Pioneer AVH-X2700BS, I ordered what I thought was the correct wiring harness but now I am not sure. On the back of my stock radio there are 2 connectors, the bigger one of the 2 matches the adapter I got but I don't have a harness for the second smaller (16 pin) connector. I can't find any info on the smaller 16 pin connector, what is the connector for? Do I need an adapter for it?

Also do I need an antenna adapter or will the truck antenna plug right into the Pioneer?

Your good on the antenna, they didn't change until 07, the 04-06 used the industry standard antenna plug so your Pioneer will plug right in.

I just installed an X721BT Pioneer in mine. I ordered everything from Crutchfield. The wiring adapters did not use the small plug on the truck harness. My original radio had the 3 plug system. I think the smaller plug is for the DVD system, which mine did not have. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input! I have my wiring harness all done up, I put in a parking brake bypass and hopefully I have wired it correctly. I just have to install the headunit and tailgate handle with camera into my truck. Hopefully I will have to do it after work this week or this weekend.
