I have an 04 f150 that has the regular cam tick noise. Truck has 103k miles and it's been used heavily. The cam tick started at about 85k. Last fall it was getting noisy and I swapped out the phaser solenoids. The screens in the solenoids looked good and we're completely there. The noise has quieted down a bit but its there after warm up. Can I make the assumption that the cam bearings are still ok if the screens were good. The chain tensioners are going bad I believe so I am going to overhaul the timing stuff. I don't want the heads to take a crap on me after all the work. Any technical help would be great.
