Feels sooooo good to have a Tachometer...

Picked up a used cluster from a wrecked F150... Mileage was only a few hundred off... perfect! It was plug and play. Only 2 things that don't work are the door ajar light / audible tone, and the new cluster has info for outside temp which my truck doesn't have the temp sensor.

Sorry for the crappy photos, Old on top, new installed.

Been down that road. Going to have my clusters cloned so everything works correctly.

Interior/cargo lights do not come on when you open the door, mileage doesn't light up and display when you open the door, no chime when the lights are left on, no key in ignition chime, etc.

At least all of the gauges and warnings work correctly. I even lowered my tire pressure while it was running to verify the low tire pressure indicator does it fact work correctly.

It's plug n play in a sense, but definitely not fully plug n play. I only swapped clusters because I was messing around with my original one, broke a stepper motor and then damaged the board when trying to replace it. Wish I'd never touched it, ha.

$100 for a clone and all will work correctly. I'll be doing that soon.

Original cluster:

New xlt w/chrome package cluster: mileage was only different by 400mi.

Nice! Where are you having the clusters cloned at?

I'm guessing yours is behaving the same way? Interior lights don't come on when you open the door? You have an XL or an STX?

Instrumentclusterstore is the company that'll do the clone. They're the largest in the US and are located in PA. You need to send in both clusters at the same time, but they have a 24 hour turn around time.

All you need to do is contact them and they'll email you a form to fill out. All of the as-built data, vin, mileage, etc will be cloned to your new cluster.

It is, my mileage portion of the gauge doesn't light up at all, rest of the lights operate normally. Interior lights don't come on when the door is opened, but only when the key is removed, and the Door Ajar doesn't work. None of it REALLY bothers me, but I am a perfectionist to an extent! The truck is my daily, might be hard to send both clusters at the same time! The truck is a 4.6L STX Ext. Cab.

Sounds like the bulb for your odomiter is just burned out. It's really easy to replace. #74 bulb, or you can put a #74 led in instead. Or just swap the bulb from your old cluster. I did a write up in the how-to section of this forum on replacing all the cluster bulbs. Most of it you already know since you swapped clusters. https://www.f150online.com/forums/ar...step-pics.html

My truck acts the same way with the new cluster. Really not a huge deal. But I, too, am a perfectionist.
