How many miles per tank do you guys usually get? I got an 07 Supercab with the 6" bed, 4.6L. I do a mixutre of city/highway driving. Wondering what you all get?

I don't usually bother with that. My scan gauge shows my average mpgs and once and a while I'll do the miles divided by gallons. I'd recommend doing that if you truly want to see what kind of mpgs you average per tank.

That said, all highway I'd get about 400-450 miles per tank. All city would yield only about 300-350 per tank. V6 manual with the 27 gal tank. I've owned the truck since new and it's never changed.

Ah ok! I have the smaller tank. I'm at 230mi on my fill up, and I'm at 1/3rd left for gas. Pretty sure I need spark plugs and cool boots though.

Run through a couple tanks and fill up at 1/4 tank at the same station each time. Calculate your miles driven divided by gallons added. Let the pump click off when it would each time and don't try to add anymore. You'll know exactly what you get that way.

The needle starts moving faster once you get past half a tank, so 230 miles driven and 1/3 tank left won't really tell you anything.

Changing your fuel filter every 15-30k miles will also help too.

My 06 5.4 V8 with 27 gallon tank (according to the message center) gets around 375 miles to a tank. However, I fill up at 1/2 a tank.

Try and run it lower and see if you can get anywhere near 375. The message center is usually way off when you actually try it yourself.

Even my girlfriends car, a newer Subaru, gives a rather high figure for miles to empty that I've never been able to match even during all highway trips.

I have gone a little over 500 miles on mine before. I usually stop and refill before I get that low.

I have the 5.4 and 36 gal tank.

I know I'm in the wrong forum, but here's my best:

Yes, that's almost 23 mpg. 25 gallon tank.

$1.75 a gallon? This is what catches my eye... We're at $2.11 right now. Definitely makes it a little easier on the wallet.

That's awesome glc. That 85 is cheap. Currently on a trip to Florida and back, $1.89 is the best I've found.

That sounds a bit low for what you have - I'd do some preventive maintenance.

Do a couple fill ups to see what you average. But I agree, that's a bit low. Fuel/air filter, plugs, clean tb and maf, etc will help you.

Way ahead of ya! Plugs didn't look TO bad... I implore everyone who is doing coil boots / plugs to use compressed air before taking the plugs out. There was so much crud in there, even with the boots keeping most of it out... If you don't blow out the spark plug wells, that crap is going to drop right into your combustion chambers!
