Has anyone broke a SP 515 Plug yet????

Hey everyone! Getting ready to do the 2nd plug change with another set of SP 515's which i did put nickle AS on. I searched and found no threads on the updated plugs having breaking issues or not. Still gonna take the necessary steps, but wanted to eliminate some of the puckering when removing. Anyone do their 2nd plug change yet?

I've just done my second change. First change was at around 118000 miles. Done this last set, this past weekend, at 165000. Every plug came out with Just a 3/8 ratchet. They where in there pretty firm and I put a little muscle too it and they all broke loose and came straight out. Hope that helps. Removing the throttle body out of way was a major help to me, made it so much easier to get to everything, plus I was going to clean it and the maf anyway. Just make sure to stuff a rag down in there to keep stuff out.

Thanks DLS! Plugs are on the way, so they will be here soon planning on doing this over Thanksgiving weekend.
Gonna use a Mikita 18v impact on a warm motor. I do have a question about the warm motor part. Do you just drive around for 15 mins? It seems tye motor would be pretty damn hot, right?

I just started mine up and let it run for about 10 minutes, then tore into it. I done one at a time. Remove old plug then replace it and cop, then moved to next one. I also made sure to torque them down right. Doing one at a time gave me less of a chance of anything getting down in there. I kept air compressor on hand and blower everything out in between each plug removal and I put anti seize back on each plug.

Should not use antisieze on the threads, just on the shanks and dielectric grease on the boots to assist getting them on properly.

I didn't put it on threads just the shanks below threads. At first I did put it on threads and ran truck for,a,couple days and the truck didn't run right and I realized what I done and took them all out and cleaned them and redone them and it's perfect now. I used dielectric grease on boots and springs.

You did it it correctly and I fixed my previous post so as not to steer someone in the wrong direction.

I knew what you meant. But it was good to fix it because someone who hasn't done it yet and read that would have. I'm taking mine into dealer Wed. to have the updated flash I've been reading about, hope it takes care of the clunk on hard accelleration and the feel of it being held back.
