P0054 and P2270 OBD codes
Hello, I'm new here. I was hoping to get some help with these OBD codes. I preformed a scan this morning and these two codes showed up on the scanner; P0054 and P2270. I have a 2008, F-150 XL 4.2L V6.
I Googled each code: Code P0054= Faulty Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2 Code P2270= O2 Sensor Signal Stuck Lean Bank 1 Sensor 2 So, from this I gathered that I have an HO2 Sensor problem. I went and took a look under the truck to see what my catalyst and HO2 Sensor setup looks like and it looks like this exactly: https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...3ddf95ab75.gif I have an ALLDATADIY subscription, so that's where I got that diagram from. What's got me a little confused is ALLDATA's terminology, because looking at the ALLDATA diagram for my truck, the passenger's side (Bank 1) Sensor 2 (downstream) seems to be the sensor screwed directly into the catalytic converter. In the ALLDATA diagram though, those are referred to as "Catalyst monitor sensors" not HO2 sensors. I looked in front of and behind both driver's side and passenger's side cats and these are the only sensors I would consider HO2 Sensors. I got a good look at the so-called "Catalyst monitor sensors" and its electrical harness connector is light violet purple in color. They match Motorcraft part# 4L3Z9G444AA, DY992 perfectly in look: https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...f553e77ab4.jpg Anyway, anyone with O2 sensor knowledge on the late model F-150s would be much appreciated. I'd just like to confirm that the Catalyst monitor sensors are indeed just another name for the downstream HO2 Sensors. I expected the HO2 Sensors to be post catalyst, not screwed into a bung in the actual cats, so that's what has me a little confused. Thanks |
Alright, so I found my Haynes repair manual for 2004 thru 2009 F-150s. On page 6-19 it states:
There are two downstream oxygen sensors on all models. On 4.2L V6 models, the downstream sensors are located on the catalytic converters. |
I had the same problem Thanks for the info
