07 5.4 Screw hesitating

So I've searched a bit and without resurrecting old posts I decided to create a new one. As the title says my truck is hesitating 07 Screw with 147k. While in park I can feel it shaking a bit (not drastic) once I shift out of park the shaking gets a bit stronger. On take off its even stronger. Once I'm cruising it's pretty much gone until I have to accelerate again and it shakes violently, doesn't matter if it's a flat road or a hill. I changed the plugs about 7k ago with the redesigned motorcrafts, i changed the intake to a k&n about a year ago and cleaned the TB at the same time. When I originally changed the plugs it was for the same reason and it went away. Now it feels the same way all over again. It hasn't thrown a code yet though. Any ideas of what could possibly be happening? Thanks!

I read you are not supposed to run any intake besides stock, and a plain filter. Did you clean the MAF sensor with MAF sensor cleaner? Try that if you haven't and DO NOT use carb cleaner, only MAF cleaner.

I've never heard that before. In fact, I know several people with them with 0 issues. I've had it for a year without any problems too. I have not cleaned the MAF sensor though.

I could be wrong about that, just some posts I read dealing with engine problems. Might just be a blame for some other reason a Ford dealership would use.

Not that it's 100% pertaining to your issue, but there is tons of info on this site about not using aftermarket intakes unless you have a tune that meant for it. Just an FYI.

Put the stock intake back on, clean the MAF and TB, and be prepared to buy one or more coils.

Sounds like how mine runs...only mine shakes during idle...I have put about 3k miles on mine since it started in April...no codes...

The dealer hooked it up...said it had low compression in 3 cylinders...this is about 500 miles after having phasers and solenoids done...

They say new engine!...If you find out what is wrong with yours post back!

Good Luck!

Thanks for the replys. I'll start looking around for a set of COP's (any particular brand that works best?) And I'll get to the MAF hopefully this weekend at the latest. I won't however take off the intake. My truck runs and responds so much better with it than it did before. I hope u can figure out yours eventually too. I'll keep u posted if I find anything with mine.

Go with motorcraft cops. If you want to keep your intake, it's your truck and your choice. I'd recommend doing a little searching on here and reading about it a little more first before you make up your mind with that.

I recommend OEM Motorcraft cops. Part number is DG511, they are close to $50 each.

I would hook up a code reader before I started throwing parts at it.

Without a custom tune, you are running too lean with that intake.
