New Long Block

Had a lot of issues with my engine lately. To make a long story short the truck is at the dealer right now getting a new one installed right now. Does anybody have experience with a new engine in their truck? Did a host of new problems arise after the install due to components not being hooked up right, electrical problems, etc.? Should I unload it or just consider it a new truck now? Only has 72,000 miles on it.

Seems to me a Ford reman has a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty.

Just curious - What happened to your original engine?

FX4SC I had new lb put in 2007 KR in April. Truck had 120k on her then. Now has 125k and runs like new. Everything else on the the truck still runs like factory so I kind of looked at it like "new old stock". I couldnt be happier. If everything else on the truck is good to go, I think you'll be happy with it. Hope this helped ya some.

My engine chewed up a torque thrust washer, and had it replaced 5 years ago at 75k miles. I now have 125k and no problems so far on the dealer installed remanufactured engine. Hoping to get at least 175k miles.

Ford reman installed 18 months ago, runs great, and have not had to return to dealer once. Not happy that I had to replace it at only 98k and the cost, but cheaper than a new truck.
