Did you get custom tunes for that specific intake? If not, you are going to run too lean.

Looks great! Nice, clean looking CAI. I may have to look into one of those for my '05.

Meh, I wouldn't worry too much about the running lean thing. If it is, is sooo slight that it won't matter. I don't think an otherwise stock engine is capable of breathing that much more air enough to hurt itself. I ran a very similar K&N CAI on my previous '04 5.4 3v for over 8 years and 150K miles. People always warned me that it was making it lean and killing my engine. Blah-blah-blah.
Guess I didn't listen. I also ran a Superchips Flashpaq with a canned performance tune along with it.
My engine ran strong and purred like a kitten until the little black gal pulled out in front of me and ended that truck.

Don't be so quick to say that - the 5.4 3 valve has MAF transfer issues, hence the need for a custom tune.

To the OP: Just making sure your tunes account for all your mods.

Oh, I wasn't quick to say that. It was an 8 year/154K mile study. LOL

It passed

Thanks for looking out. We had decided to get a tune and wanted to make sure we added the things that needed for tunes. So that is why we added the CAI at this time. Really happy with our dealings with MPT Tuning.
