Took a million coats. Used glossifier too. Not as good as a factory match, but looks better than it did! Doing the rear bumper tomorrow.

Looks very nice! I'll be interested in knowing how well it holds up in service. From their videos, it's supposed to be extremely durable.

Have you seen the video that shows the new "color changing" dip?

Jack,

Thank you! I'll definitely update how it holds up. I've yet to see that video, but I'm going to go check it now!

That looks great! I've been thinking of changing my truck up and giving that "Storm Trooper" look.

Thanks! And if you do, try out plastidip. You can always go back if you don't like it.

Will be doing my rear bumper today and posting pics later.

Did you use the rattle can or spray gun?
If you used a spray gun did you use thinner?

Thanks Darren!

I used rattle cans. Didn't want to put a lot into it. But next time, I'll have them professionally painted because the white looks so much better.

Just finished the rear bumper today.

Wow, how'd I miss this.. Man, that looks super nice, the color match is Very close .. Looks like a completely different truck.

Going to be interesting how long it holds up and wonder if the glossifier will help it last longer.. When I did my badges it lasted about a year before I pealed it off and it was mostly because I had gotten wax all over it and couldn't get it removed, no glossifier.

Nice job bud..

Thank you! Only time will tell how this holds and I'll report back! The glossifier might help and it definitely makes it a little less rubbery. I even applied a coat of liquid glass to it!

I've had my bumper done in plastidip for about 3 months now. It's no rhino lining but it's pretty great stuff. I've had a few rocks "chip" it but I patched it up and you can't tell unless I point it out and you get right down in front of it to look. One thing about patching it, use an xacto knife or razor blade and cut a square around your blemish. Then peel that patch off and re-spray. If you don't it won't be smooth and you risk it peeling up again. I've been through the car wash 3-4 times and it's held up pretty good. I also sprayed my plastic top piece on my rear bumper and after having a few people stepping on the bumper to get into the bed it has peeled up a couple spots so be mindful of areas that may see foot traffic. Your truck looks much better though! Hardly see a color difference in it at all.

Seems to be holding well, hasn't been too long though, I know. I've driven on the highway in the rain a few times and pressure washed the truck too.
