Ha! That explains why it doesn't work so well.

Worked perfectly

I'm new to the forum, looked for a couple easy fixes to my 2007 F150 which I recently bought.
Very happy with the resources. This fix worked well, and my Radio is lit up again after 10min invested.
thank you.

Just a note to give you a BIG Thank You for this "How To". I couldn't have done it without the photos and instructions that were so clear and correct.

You're a freaking lifesaver, dude. I don’t know why I held off so long dealing with no lcd screen. So darn simple. Thank you!

A beautiful work of art!

Lol -- at least it works. I've seen worse.

The reason this happens is because of the crappy lead-free solder. Lead-free solder should be banned!

You have no idea how many people throw electronics out in the trash because they quit working, simply because of crappy lead-free solder. To the point that it pollutes more.

FWIW: Leaded solder allows for a little bit of movement when there is vibration, basically expansion and contraction. Lead-free solder doesn't allow for this.

I recommend Kester brand "44" 62/38 rosin core.
