LED Front Signals
LED Front Signals
I have a 2004 FX4 (new body style) from Canada, so my DRL's are my main headlights at a lower output, and my smaller 3157's are amber in the front.
I was thinking of putting in LED switchbacks for those, but most people who have are running a US version of the truck where those bulbs are also the DRL's
Does anyone know if the white/amber switchbacks will work in the Canadian version of the 04? I was hoping for white when the headlights are on and amber flashing when the signals are active.
Thanks for any insight.

Bonder, I don't have an answer as to how well switchbacks will work in your truck, but they aren't THAT expensive - I can't see that it would hurt anything to give them a try.
But, as to your comments about DRLs in the US, as far as I know the 04 and 05 (and probably later) models did not come with DRLs at all. I know this because I added a Motorcraft DRL module to my 05, and it lights the main headlights, but at a lower power, same as yours.
I put Stealth bulbs in my turn signal sockets. These things look silver when off, but are amber when lit. I thought the OEM amber bulbs were ugly. I'm pretty sure switchbacks were not available when I did this back in 2007.

Vehicles have required DRLs in Canada since 1990 (I didn't even realize it was that long ago)
Only reason I don't want to try it is if the bulb gets confused by my setup, it will either only light the amber or possibly both at the same time. So I would rather invest in a solid amber one to keep proper visibility.
