Transmission fluid change questions

I have an 06 STX 4.6L 4X4 with 65,000 mile. And i am thinking about doing a transmission change. The dealer wants about $200 for a flush but I have heard that they can damage the vehicle. I have read so many different opinions it makes my head spin. For my generation of truck, what is the best thing to do?

I bought the truck new, and have never serviced the tranny. I very rarely haul, or put the tranny under stress.

Advice?

Find a good reputable shop and tell tehm you want a full fluid exchange - using a machine built for the purpose. No flush, no chemicals.

Fluid - Mercon V - trans capacity is in ye owner's guide.
