New tire size, what should I do next?
New tire size, what should I do next?
Got rid of the Cooper Discoverer AT3 LT265/70r17s I had, for some smaller P245/70r17 Firestone Destination AT.
I started really hating those coopers. The really wide open lug pattern just don't grip at all. They started to ride like they were square, lowered my mpgs a few and had a vibration I just couldn't get rid of.
I had the firestones before these and loved them. Much quieter than the coopers, ride is better and they're way better in snow, in my personal opinion.
That said, my truck looks funny with the smaller tires. I want to lower the front a little bit. I'm 2" taller than a stock 2wd, so maybe 1" lower. I'll replace the rear 3" block with either a 2" or 2.5". I have both laying around.
What are your opinions?
Lastly, my ScanGauge was always getting about 13 avg mpg around town, with the smaller tires now im getting 17 avg mpg. Stop and go city driving.

Here's before with the coopers

I actually like the look of your truck in your avatar with the stock rims -- it's looks as if your truck is lifted in that photo, but I don't think it looks that odd to be honest with you. Just looks like your basic ol' work truck, which is a compliment in my book.....
