Added tow mirrors on my reg cab short bed xl
I've always hated the paddle style mirrors it came with. Especially when parking on a narrow street and having to fold them in. You'd completely have to reposition the mirror and the passenger side was super annoying.
I ended up going with the tow mirrors for added visibility. They're manual, but the glass moves so when you fold them in, they reset back to the same exact spot after.
I was worried they'd look kind of ridiculous, but wince my truck is about 2" higher than stock with LT265/70/17's it doesn't look bad in my opinion.

They're new, aftermarket and they were $120 shipped.

Getting used to not having convex glass on the top part of the passenger mirror is weird. I'll need to get used to the bottom part instead.
Went to pass a car today, looked in the passenger side upper mirror and it has disappeared. Luckily I did remember to look at the bottom part.
The mirrors I had before may have been more proportionate, however, the paddle style, aka elephant ears just don't look good.

The passenger side definitely takes some getting used to. On most tow mirrors, just the bottom glass is convex, so you really have to pay attention to the lower mirror on that side. First day I put them on, was used to looking in the top larger mirror, passed a car and it just disappeared on the side of me. I'm finally used to it now though.

I agree messing with getting the passenger side flag style mirror positioned right after moving the mirror was a major pain and reason I went with the 2010 fold in XL mirrors. No more fudging around with trying to align it after moving the mirrors in, just pop back and voila! Glad Ford stopped using those when they changed the truck in '09.
