2006 Explorer question

Back in a Ford after 3 long years. Picked up an 06 explorer 4.0 xlt w/ leather and 4x4. Noticed we don't have an explorer sub forum on here so I'll see if I can get some help in here.

Truck is awesome, however I'm dealing with an issue with the shifter. Same floor shifter is the 04-08 f150. It's very difficult to shift out of park. I've read this is a common issue with the explorers and mountaineers. Some people say replacing the transmission shift interlock module, or some people say its a sticky solenoid. It feels sticky but it sounds like I'm gonna brake the shifter when I force it into park. Anyone dealt with a similar issue or know of a definite fix? I'm thinking of taking it to ford this week and seeing if they have a TSB on it, which I've read certain vins do and they'll replace the issue for free.

Thanks for the help fellas.
