Terra Grapplers
Ok fellow '04-'08ers, looks like I'll be getting tires this fall and going to put the level in the front end of my truck before I do. Wanted to gauge everyone's thoughts on around 34 or -inch Nitto Terra Grapplers on the stock lariat rims. What do you guys think of the tire in general and what metric size should I be looking at for the 18 inch wheel?
:usa: |
I'm on my second set (got over 65K miles on the first), and have zero complaints. I only run the the 32's, so I can't comment on the larger diameters. However, my 285-width is perfectly even with the factory wheel well flares so I don't end up with mud all over the side of my truck. You may not care, but that's as wide as I'd go unless you want to add flares or like the look of mud slung across the paint.

I have trail grapplers - and am VERY impressed. I have about 20k mostly-highway miles on them and they are only about half-done. I had them siped last winter and they worked reasonably well, too! One downfall - and I'm unsure about the terrain grapplers - these Trails, in the size I had to get, are Heavy as heck.

Yeah, I probably won't be getting too crazy with tire width since I'll be using the stock rims which aren't wide at all (7.5 in?). Love the look of the trail grapplers. Thanks for the input fellas.

I'm on my second set, 285/65-18. No issues. Got almost 70k out of my first set.

On my second set of Nitto Terra Grapplers. Very pleased with the performance and life of the tires. Best tire for the money in my opinion. There are probably others that may be better, but they will also cost more for little benefit.

Just put 275/65/20 Terra Grapplers on my ecoboost. Love them so far. Look great, minimal road noise, great on wet pavement..

I just have 17" rims but I've had 285/70's on there for about 18k miles and they are still in great shape. We get some heavy snow up here some winters and they are very good in the deep stuff.
I would buy them again, without hesitating. I went with the P series this time, Imay go with the LT's next though, just because I like the stiffness a bit more that the LT's provide. |
