Overhead front map light issue

Hello,
A couple of years ago, I towed a friends small camper a few hundred miles. The trailer was wired wrong. After towing it, my overhead map light quit working. It's the map light nearest the front windshield behind the rear view mirror.

I pulled it down to replace the bulb. I noticed that the bulb had melted into the keeper of the printed circuit. Basically, the bulb won't really snap in and it kinda might work if I shim it....but not for long with driving vibrations.

I can't seem to understand why this happened. I had the correct bulb. Did the trailer wiring increase some heat in this light? Did the bulb just get too hot for some freak reason? Everything else in my truck works fine.

I would like to order a new one. I can't seem to figure out how to ask online junk yards for this part. How would I figure out the part number? I also contemplated ordering from Tasca parts or somewhere online to save a little money but can't find the part on the forms.

Does anyone have a parts book to find this part number?
Any tips on junk yards that have our model of trucks for salvage?

My truck has the sun roof. It had black leather seats and grey cloth headliner and light bezel. It has the 2 switches in the middle for the sun roof and rear sliding glass.

And, had anyone had this problem before? What a strange thing......

Thanks guys.

The bulb won't fit into the little socket that screws onto the circuit board? Or the socket won't screw fully onto the circuit board? If that is the case, try getting one from a salvage truck or getting the part # from Ford dealer and buy it on Tasca.

My friend's 2004 didn't have this exact issue, but he tows. We put LEDs in his maps and the bulbs stay lit even when off, but they aren't bright. You can only see when looking directly at the lamp. We swapped over our overhead map light assemblies and his truck still does it with the one from my 2007 and mine does not do this with the one from his truck. Must be something iffy with 2004s wiring.
