So I've been thinking about the retro, mostly thinking as nothing has shown up yet. But, I've seen a few retro's with the lenses over the signal bowl. Does anyone know what size lens? I think I wouldn't mind doing that myself on my retro.

On an unrelated note. I would like to welcome my brother back to the f150 world.

It's an 07, needs a few things. Like lug nuts, does not have the correct ones for the hd hub caps. Also, hubcaps. Pretty pricey unless you can get non hd ones. 1/4 the price. Has a few cosmetic problems. Someone tried shaving the rear ford emblem, and used too much bondo. It has since cracked, and the front bumper they "rock guarded" which doesn't mean the valance and bumper cover needed to be over sprayed.

Also, I was excited about it, because he was willing to give me the hd grille, as I was willing to buy him anyone he wanted. But the truck has already had the grille swapped out for a billet.

Nice! both have nice trucks

Don't ya love when people do really stupid to nice trucks? He'll get it back looking right though!

Yeah, it's really unbelievable. Just a person that didn't know what was the right way of doing things. I guess it had locking wheel nuts, so I drilled them out, but didn't replace the studs. Then the whole bondo thing on the tail gate. Again, didn't get it done right.

People don't realize that even though it may cost a few extra pennies, getting it done right the first time saves out in the long run.

That picture was taken after an afternoon of polishing. Here's a mid way point on the drivers side.

Still trying to find a good source on the lugs.

KMAC0694 01-26-2014 10:45 PM

Wanna polish mine too? She's in desperate need haha

baticus 01-26-2014 10:49 PM

Haha, come on it's not that hard. And that was just the scratch remover. We still have to polish it.

KMAC0694 01-26-2014 11:11 PM

My biggest issue is having time while I'm home where the equipment is haha

baticus 01-27-2014 12:14 PM

I usually have the same issue. Not enough time in the day.

Back on track with my truck, I am unable to track my shipment from the retrofit source, so I am just gonna go ahead and order the heads and get them torn apart. It'll only be a few days to get them shipped.

I'm also planning on ordering the 5k led fogs from vleds.com. They aren't overly cheap at 120 a pair. But they apparently put out more lumens than my rigid fogs.

Sub'd. I really like seeing folk working on 04-08. Very nice trucks to get up and running and looking the way they oughta deserve. Also, I'm running 5K morimoto bulbs and 5five ballasts. I hate the blue at startup but when they warm up the white color tinted looks great and really does make up for the blah ricey blue at start up!

I do like the look of the grillecraft grilles as well. It's just a tough choice. I may just have to get one of those mx ones for now. I like the look of billet as well, but I feel as though it's been over played.

fine_style150 01-28-2014 10:18 AM

Billet will never be overplayed! Although it always depends on what trend you wish to follow. What you could do is get the fat billet bars or even an fx2 grille.

baticus 01-28-2014 02:33 PM

Well not really "over played" just really popular. Too many vehicles running around here with cheap billets. My 2000 had billets. I like them, just not what I am going for on this. The fx2 grille is nice as well, just haven't been able to track one down. Maybe not looking hard enough.

Gave the truck a thorough cleaning, long over due. Winters are hard to keep the interior clean. Checked the tracking on my retrofit. Cleared Canadian customs this past Friday. So it should be sometime early this week. Also found out my brother(with the hd) ordered me a set of heads to retro. They will be here tomorrow. So I'll be able to rip it all apart and get the retro's installed. Hopefully everything painted. Then I will just have to wait for the oracle kits to show. May be a few weeks.

The place I got them through was grandwest auto. Canadian company. The shop I work at (freightliner of lethbridge) has an account, and great pricing. Although they just picked oracle up, and it had to "custom" order as they don't have any stock yet.

Now as I think, I'm starting to feel the anxiety of this whole project. I've read any and all how to's I've been able to find. So it shouldn't be too bad. I have all the tools I should expect to use. Just hope my level of finesse is up to par.

Also, good news on the hd grill. I found a wholesaler in Canada has them in stock for 330. Just waiting for an email back as I can't find it on their website, but it was listed on kijiji.ca (Canada's craigslist).
