2005 Ford f150 - clunk noise and sputter when full throttle
Could anyone give me some suggestions? My 2005 5.4 sputters and misfires when accelerating hard and throws the check engine light to blink for 15 seconds. Also, when I step on the throttle I heard a popping noise from under the hood before it started to sputter. This only happens when punching the gas, other than that it runs perfectly.

when's the last time the spark plugs were changed?
some other maintenance
clean the TB with TB cleaner
clean the maf with maf cleaner
change the fuel filter

I just bought this truck and I am unsure about the last time the spark plugs were changed. I will work on cleaning the MAF and TB.
Just from the sound of it, can you tell me if this is a major problem?

Get some new plugs (Motorcraft SP-515) along with high temp nickel antiseize, dielectric grease, and have the Lisle extraction tool available. Pull the plugs, do a compression test, if it's not good you have some work to do. If it's good, put the new plugs in and go from there.
