Frame and Bed Assist

Ive recently bought a Flareside bed for $500 but there's one problem, well a few problems, first my trucks a fleetside or styleside, second my beds only 5.5FT bed not 6.5FT, im looking at a few salvage parts web sites and im looking at frames but cant seem to figure out the options

http://www.hollanderparts.com/home

Super Cab
2WD
Super Cab 2WD 133" WB
Super Cab 2WD 145" WB
Super Cab 2WD 163" WB
4WD
Super Cab 4WD 133" WB
Super Cab 4WD 145" WB
Super Cab 4WD 163" WB

-SuperCrew
2WD
Supercrew 2WD 139" WB
Supercrew 2WD 150" WB
4WD
Supercrew 4WD 139" WB
Supercrew 4WD 150" WB

Does it matter if the frame is from a 4WD or 2WD if so then mines 2WD and is the rear bed frame (What The Bed Goes Over) from a Supercab the same as a Supercrew, which WB (Wheel-Base) fits a 6.5FT Bed
How Much Would a Paint Job Cost and some Line-X undercarriage cost

I'm a bit confused. You have a Supercrew with a 5.5ft styleside bed and you are wanting to swap with a 6.5ft flareside bed?

If so then I would imagine that the 6.5 bed is not going to fit on your frame very easily.

^^Really?
one hell of a job when you could simply sell it and buy a 6,5ft complete truck.
you would need to cut the frame about mindway its complete lenght.
then need to lenghten you rear wiring harness, reposition fuel tank(filler neck will not line up), swap the driveshaft for the 6,5ft one..

The bed itself are all the same (for the same lenght).

look carefully at the DOT in calif...I doubt you can legally plate a cut-up frame in calif.
a lot of state loose this possiblity recently.

I' would say if you where planning on doing something custom, but just for the bed...it's ridiculous IMO....sorry.:|

I have to agree. Sounds like a ton of work just to gain an extra foot of bed space.

Like he said, extend gas lines, wiring, move tank, new hitch positioning, new drive shaft, etc. The list goes on.

I think it would be easier, and potentially safer if you were to cut / shorten the 6.5 foot box. Or just sell the truck and buy a crew with the 6.5 foot box...

If going to find a frame to cut why not just swap your drivetrain and cab on to the new frame?
