Power steering not working - now it is - what gives?

My power steering was not working and this morning I got in and it was working fine.

What would cause this?

More importantly what should I do to ensure that it doesn't happen again? Change the fluid completely?

Thanks

This has happened to me before, about 2 years ago. Power steering stopped working for 2 days then came back to life. I never did a thing and its never happened again.

Mine was fine this morning but seemed to be either out or at half power tonight when I went out.

Very strange.

Use a turkey baster to suck all the fluid you can out of the reservoir and refill it with Mercon V ATF. Repeat every 2 weeks till you have used up a quart bottle.
