Need help Identifying this leak

Hi guys need your help on something. I noticed a leak today that wasn't there a couple days ago. When I got under the truck I noticed that there was a brown/black liquid on the driver side near the engine mount and sway bar. So I cleaned it all up and went for a 10minute drive. When I got back I went under the truck and saw that it was starting to leak again. It seems to be coming from behind the drivers side mount where it connects to the block. The liquid doesnt seem to be oil because its not oily and it dries leaving a residue(as you can kinda see in the bottom of the pic on my cross member) I am beginning to think it might be a freeze plug maybe? But that liquid doesnt look like its coolant, obviously, so I'm a little lost. Any help would be appreciated. I can say that it isn't coming from the oil dipstick tube, not coming from the head gasket area, valve cover gasket looks fine. And the oil filter area is clean and dry as well. Here's a pic of the leak

Have you checked all your fluid levels to see if anything is low? If it's not oily, it's most likely coolant or maybe brake fluid.

I did check all my levels and everything was normal. Since it just started leaking yesterday, from what I can tell, i might not have lost enough fluid to show. I did notice this morning that I didn't lose any addt'l fluid overnite. But I checked when I got into work and it did leak on my drive here. so it only seems to b happening while the engine is running. Does anyone know if a freeze plug or oil galley are directly behind the motor mount?

Can you post a picture topside looking down? Is it coming out of the Dipstick like possible PCV system malfunction causing the dipstick to pop out and oil leak out?

Or cracked block.

I can probably get a picture up tonite when I get home. I did look at the hose that connects from the intake manifold to the driver side valve cover and that isn't leaking. And the dip stick tube is bone dry. While looking online I did see 1 thing that might be the cause. Does anyone know if our motor mounts are fluid/oil filled? That might explain why the leak seems to be starting from the motor mount and no where else. But I can't find any info online that tells me if our mounts are oil/fluid filled.

There are a lot of MM's that are fluid filled these days. I would be more inclined to think that it was that, unless they aren't fluid filled.

Don't know what you found out but if it is the motor mount and it's on the passenger side your looking at about a $400 job. They say it's 4.5 to 5.0 hrs labor plus the part. If it's just a leak you can still drive with it and all will be normal except for a little more vibration felt do to the loss of fluid to dampen the engine vibration.

Yeah, I agree... heck, from the looks of it, I could change that motor mount in 1 hour... just get a 2x4 and a jack to prop up the engine.

Just need the right tools, but if so, it's do able in less than 4 hours.

oil filter housing gasket leaking where it mounts on the engine. gasket is about $12. labor calls for about 1.5 hours. may as well do a total oil change while youre down there.
