Angry Window Regulators!!

This morning my drivers window regulator took a dump for 4th f@#* time!!

Here is the deal my truck is an 04 bought it new, as of today it has 37017 miles on it.

Front drivers 4 time now!!!!

Rear driver once!

Passenger once!

Rear passenger twice!!

And I don't even roll the windows down a lot, its too damn hot in Phoenix.

I know a bunch of us have this problem and it is seems to be everyone who lives in a hot climate. I wish Ford would fix these POS

Ok, I am done crying.

My passenger went last year and my driver went this year. I'm not rolling my windows down unless it's an emergency.

You truck has only 37017 and you had to replace them eight times. That's pretty messed up.

My drivers side switch is bad, as is the passenger. Really pisses me off that Ford can't get this design right, its such a simple thing!

I was considering doing the conversion to electric using oem parts like many have done here...

Have they not corrected the problem on the replacement oem regulators?

On my 06 both front windows, the only ones that see use, both have bad switches. They run about 50-60 a pop, atleast they are easy to replace

Really? I've never heard of one going out though... Maybe arm power isn't as rough on them!

What a weird coincidence... my drivers side broke on Monday too... but it was the first time.

MTpint - what are you using to replace them? Are you using OEM or aftermarket? I ordered one through Autozone that was Dorman brand I believe. Ford service would only sell me the complete motor & regulator for like $185 but Autozone had the regulator only for $45

Sounds like you have some experience... any tips on installing them??? Mine should hopefully be here today/tomorrow.

Thanks!

I was wondering... at first Ford parts quoted me the regulator only and the PN the guy gave me matched the one on my current regulator. But then they called back and said that it was the wrong one and it only worked on a manual window and I had to buy the complete motor/regulator assembly for 4 times the price.

dumb bastards

Ah well... aftermarket was even cheaper. Hopefully it holds up.

my passenger side front broke on Friday, and the whole dang cable was bird nested. Auto offered me the regulator alone for $45 like mkosu04 said, but it would take 5 days to get it in. I spent Saturday messin with it and finally got it working. the hardest part was getting it wound back on the spool properly, hopefully yours comes prewound so all you will have to do is take off the old roller for a lack of better terms and slip on the new one. the rest is a piece of cake 5 bolts i think...
