Wicked pissed off at dealership!!!

Just need to vent here and if anyone has any suggestions please contribute.

So back a couple of months ago my 4x4 wasn't working in my 08' F150 Lariat. I took it to a dealership and they said it was a vac leak and $100 later they said it was fixed. Tried it out when I left and I thought it worked. Tried to use it last week and nothing happened when I turned the switch, no lights, nothing. So made an appoitment with the original dealership that fixed it before, couldn't make it there so I took it to another dealership today, they looked at it and found both vac lines on the front hubs were not connected, they also found a "test plug" that goes into the vac line and the other end goes into a tester or something still in one of the vac lines, also a trouble code P1867. They said who ever worked on it last looked like they just didn't finish it and left it there. This pissed me off to no end!! The original dealership was the last people to touch the car. I told them to leave it, had to pay $100 diagnostic fee, and left. I drove up to the original dealership and reamed them a new one. They agreed to reimburse me their original change for "fixing" it over a month ago, and reimbursed me the diagnostic fee for the dealership that found their up. They said to bring it in tomorrow and they will have another tech look at it and fix it right this time.

I honestly don't trust them, this is the same dealership that replaced my engine and I found out it was the same tech who replaced my engine that up the 4x4 fix. I feel real comfortable now (sarcasm) that this tech replaced my engine considering he didn't recharge my AC and I had coolant leaking out of the hose going into the plastic thing that holds it all after I picked it up. I told them I want another dealership to look at my truck to make sure they didn't anything else up when they installed my engine, they said they won't cover the cost. So I called Ford corporate to complain, well see what happens.

I also noticed some kind of fluid leaking out of where the front transfer case is when I got the truck home. Anyone know what this could be along with the P1867 trouble code? Anyone have any suggestions on what I should do from here? Thanks for letting me vent.

I'm not sure about a front transfer case. Are you talking about the front axle? Or the front side of the transfer case? I wouldn't take my truck back to them. Find another dealer

dont go to the dealer with the crappy service tech. take it to the dealer that found the problem. had a window place mess up a $1000 windshield on my bmw, so not only did they pay for a new windshield but they paid for the car to be trailered to a shop of my choice. from what youve said it sounds like the one dealer is a joke and i wouldnt go back for nothing and it sure sounds like you can get them to cover their wrongs at a different dealer

It happens. Happened to my dad and his dealership with similar problems and issues. Since you got your money back you should just take it to the dealer that does the right work. It's ridiculous. It happens.. all the time as well. I can't stand when there is something needing fix that I might have to result for someone else to check out.. find a good one and stick with them.

So went to the dealership today and the 4x4 needs a new transfer case shift motor, that's why it wasn't working.

The leaking fluid is the front differential pinion seal.

The oil I saw up in the engine is the head gasket seal, I looked at it up on the lift and the other side was leaking oil too. I asked what would cause that to leak, he said a bad gasket. I'm thinking the guy who installed it ****** that up too, what do you guys think?

Ford is covering the head gasket seal, and the other stuff my extended warranty company is covering. Ford is also paying for a rental car until I get my truck back.

May just as well trade it in after its all fixed. Sounds pretty rough.. sorry to hear about the inconvenience you have had. Trade it in and be done with the issues and stick to the other good dealership.
