Question Which 6 Inch Lift Company Do you suggest or prefer??

Hello everyone, I posted this in 04-08 Section because I wanted to know from experiences on these trucks mainly. Though it will be going on an 07 2wd. Which lift company do you suggest for aftermarket suspension lift applications? For my 2wd the options are 6 inch Skyjacker being the cheapest, then 6'' Pro Comp and 6'' Fabtech being the highest $.

I probably will not be running an extra spacer up front, just the kit itself. From experience which brand do you guys like or enjoy better? For the cost of $1100, new and free shipping the 6 inch Skyjacker seems to be a best deal, I plan on trying the install myself as well. They often say "you get what you pay for," should I consider this with these kits? Should I really fork out an extra $300ish~ for the Stage 1 Pro Comp or an extra ~$500ish for the Fabtech. These both being the Stage 1 or basic kits. I personally like all of them, and heard good about Fabtech. But mainly I'm liking the Skyjacker mostly for the price but dont know much about the company. Thanks! Also still thinking of a body lift bc of the cheap cost and just wanting a taller truck.

I would avoid the body lift. Very hard to install and it still doesn't look as good to me atleast.

I've never heard any bad on skyjacker or any of the other brands. Have you looked at the cross members? If I didn't want the skyjacker and I was just choosing the pro comp or the fan tech I would choose the fab tech just because the pro comp is ugly IMO.

It's all pretty much up to you. If they are all basic/ spacer lifts and you don't plan on off roading any I'd say any of them should work for you.

Also you should be able to install the lift yourself. I installed my 4wd kit which is quite a bit more involved and didn't have any issues, and I've never done any installs like that before. A body lift on the other hand can cost twice or three times as much as the cost for the lift itself just to have someone install it.

Yeah, I have given it some thought.. I would rather install a suspension lift than body lift on this truck, atleast I think the suspension install wouldn't be as bad and would get more out of it in the end. I feel I could handle the install myself, just taking my time and doing it all correctly, professionally wise.

I kinda didn't like the look of the Skyjacker front crossmember..? It kinda looks like a bar design.. small and simple looking, but isn't huge and bulky so it does look better like that I suppose. I don't know about the other two, but now I see that Fabtech basic kit is in at the $2K range. So Fabtech maybe out of the question, just don't know if the price difference is worth it for simple differences on basic kits, esp going on a 2wd.

Pro comp will just be a bar going strait across.. With fab tech being that much higher I would look very closely at the skyjacker or pro comp. both are good kits.

Yeah I see.. Only thing is the procomp lift is just a spacer no new struts in front. I just seen in town a stock but body lifted and leveled, reg cab fx4 stepside prob 05 model and you couldn't even tell it had a body lift till I seen his gap under the bed. I was shocked at how stock it looked even with a body lift on it.. besides it being tall as hell on stock 18s you couldn't tell there was one on it. Still might consider the body lift after seeing that, really can't tell with sidesteps which he had. Esp for the price and not having screw with my current smooth ride, that being main reasons cause its my dd. All I really want is a taller stance thats it.

If you're worried about keeping the smooth ride lifting it and throwing big tires on it, especially mud tires will kill it. The lift won't affect it at all, just the tires and shock choice.

one other thing to keep in mind, the Skyjacker kit requires a shop press to press the factory spindle out of the factory knuckle and into the skyjacker knuckle

Yea I seen that. Is there and actual spindle in the knuckle of the other kits? Like the visual of the fabtech kit looked like it had a spindle in the knuckle?
