Has anyone ever had this happen?
A few day's ago my truck started acting weird when I needed to go WOT to pass someone or beat traffic getting on the interstate. What was happening is I would press the pedal to the floor and my truck would down shift normally but it felt as though the throttle body was only opening halfway for a few seconds, then finally open all the way and take off like it should. Well, it had me dumbfounded since I wasn't getting a code and everything else seemed to operating properly. A day goes by and while driving down the road coming back home from hunting, I had a clear road ahead and decided to go WOT and try to simulate the problem again and this time it ran really bad, the truck would barely get above 75mph and my check engine light started flashing. I was relieved then cause I knew that was the sign of a misfire. I get into town and stopped by the parts store and after pricing the COP's at $58 a piece!
I decided to try my luck and just replace the boots, which were $48 for all 8 and also got some throttle body cleaner to clean my throttle body since it's never been done in 129k miles. I get home and remove everything, put on the new boots, clean the throttle body and reinstall everything. Out of curiosity, I had my wife get in the truck, turn the key on but not crank the engine and watch the throttle body open as she pushed the gas pedal to the floor, just making sure it was opening properly. When I got done reinstalling my intake and left for my test drive I noticed something extremely different then before. All of the previous throttle lag was gone! I don't know what the heck I done but the throttle body reacts to the pedal adjustments like it did when I had my Edge programmer installed. I thought since I disconnected the battery and reset the PCM it may eventually come back and was just doing this since the PCM was going through is adaptive learning strategy crap again but after three day's it's still doing the same thing and i'm hoping it doesn't go away. Before, I could put my truck in gear and it just sat there until I began applying pressure to the pedal but now my truck slowly starts to move away on it's own and the idle is still around 800rpm's like before. I'm not trying to make everyone think I have found a solution to the crappy throttle lag these trucks came with from the factory, just wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else before. As for my misfire it's fixed also and my truck is probably running better now then it did the day I brought it home.

Ta-Da! Made you feel good didn't it? Just like in the old days when carbs would get gummed up. You might want to clean the MAF sensor too (with proper cleaner) for good measure.
...so who's gonna win the bowl game?

It definitely made me feel better! lol I cleaned the MAF sensor about a month ago and usually do so after every air filter cleaning, since I have a K&N filter. As for the bowl game, I gotta go with my Tigers but think it's gonna be another close one. I don't think it will come down to a field goal kick this time but don't see either team scoring a whole lot of points.
