FX4 Cluster Swap Questions (I know I know)

Picking up my FX4 Cluster tomorrow to put in my STX. Two quick questions (and yes, I did a search)

1.) I have no idea what year this FX4 cluster came out of (obviously between 04-08). I've read that the old myth of having to have the cluster programmed is long dispelled, however I also read that only clusters from 04-05 will work in an '05, any truth to this?

2.) I've yet to find a dealer that will put the proper mileage in the new cluster. I'd like to have it done though. If I install the cluster, can the proper mileage be added later? By this I mean does the truck itself store the true mileage somewhere, I'm doubtful any place would just add up the difference and I do want the proper mileage for legality sake

Thanks in advance!

Try InstrumentClusters.com. I got a quote from them for $235 (labor and shipping)

I know on the 06-08's there's some idiot lights in different locations along with a few more lights. Not sure if that makes a big difference or not.
