Talking Night Shades Tails and 3rd brake light done, also did overlays.

I decided to de-badge my truck and started with doing the Ford emblem overlays. The emblems were getting cloudy and chipping as they all do so I thought it was time. I got these from Patriot Decals, I think I paid about $28 for shipping with one for the front, one for the back and one for the steering wheel. I got the front one off easy but the rear I just taped off, sanded adn painted with it on the truck.

A little while later I had the truck parked outside my GF's house. Her neighbour's dog got loose and ran at some guy walking down the street and he slammed into my truck. I didn't see it happen but another neighbour said it did. So into the body shop she went.

While it was in there I figured it would be a perfect time to spray some nightshades on my tails and third brake light.

Cleaned and taped:

Wetsanded:

Coats 1-4 and final product:

Took them to the body shop where a friend of mine is the painter. He scuffed them and cleared them.

I'm very happy with how they turned out. They're a little lighter than they look in the pics, still lots of light gets through. I got a lot of compliments on how evenly dark I got them. Third brake light came out too dark though but still looks good.

Next step is Saleen side vents to replace the stock badges and a bumper sticker to cover the holes from the rear badge.

Is it possible to sand down the beveled "Ford" on the emblems before placing the overlays? I ordered some custom ones from Patriot and I am stilling waiting for them to come in.

Thanks

Yes it's possible. I just didn't realize it at the time. After it was done I realized it but it was too late. It will just take more time to sand down the lettering.

Good looking truck. The guy and the dog damage is unfortunate but seems like the motivation for the other modification made it worth while.
