Haha this truck is turning into your 04.

When you first bought that lariat I remember your post was something similar to this, "I just have to get this 08, it's so much tighter and quieter than my 04".

Now just about the same as the 04 mod wise.

no the bilsteins and dying transmission would make the old one feel like a dump truck.

the shocks being ranchos this time should make all the difference in the world

Yeah the '04 was fun, but also my daily driver. After a days worth of commutes, the exhaust noise and rough suspension got very old and unpleasant. I threw the 33s on and it stiffened up slightly but it still glides beautifully on the pavement and gravel. The adjustable Ranchos should retain that ride.

My exhaust on this truck will be much quieter.. On the highway that is. Hell, I still want to try a Flowmaster Super 10 series just to hear how it would sound, and its cheap. Droning wouldn't be horrible on stock cats.

Yeah it will. I hated the super44 drone on my 04 with 4 cats, can't even imagine a single chamber. It will be like your old chevy.

Stick with a smaller straight-through muffler on factory cats and I think you'll be golden.

Just to try it out. But no worries, I'm trying to save for my plotted set-up.

yeah i would do like what you planned on your 04, have had the mufflers clamped so you can interchange without cutting and welding involved, into this setup your saving for

Every day as my work road to the gas well site is gravel. I have traveled on gravel roads all my life. Not afraid of them, just hate washing up after a weeks worth of traveling them.

Would be a good plan, especially the way I want to run it. That way, I could probably even incorporate the option of going back to the stock muffler.

you probably could. you would have to measure the stock muffler, then get whatever other mufflers you wanted to run and weld on a piece of test pipe to the shorter aftermarket mufflers to make it the same length as the stocker. my friend has a maggie muffler thats clamped in, and he can put his muffler in and take it out in less than 4 or 5 seconds. it just sits in there. then clamping it wouldnt be hard. the tailpipe would be just hanging so you could move it back, slide the muffler into the front part of the exhaust, then pull the tailpipe back. that would be a sure way to save money once you find the sound you like. then you could sell the mufflers you didnt want.
