Another Spark Plug Success!!
Just got finished replacing all 8 of my spark plugs in a 2006 5.4. Truck had 60k miles on it and figured it was about time to change them because I didnt want to have them breaking one after another at 100k. My local dealer wanted 560 plus 60 bucks for each plug that broke. The method I used was ran the truck up to full temperature then sprayed carb cleaner down each spark plug shaft. Let it sit for a short time then crack each plug slightly and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then I just slowly turned each one out. Most were tight all the way till the end except for a few including the one that broke. I had a lisle tool with me and that took care of it without any problems. Then I started the truck to clear out and liquid that built up in the chamber. Coated each of the new spark plugs with nickle anti seize and tightened each one down. Now out to spend the money I saved from not taking it to the dealer.
