I've been getting oil in the same spot for the last few years, although not quite as bad as yours. So far I haven't looked to see where it is coming from. If mine starts to drip on the ground then I'll have more motivation to look at it.

Rear main oil seal? That round rubber cap over the exhaust is an inspection port, pop it off and take a look inside.

If it isn't covered under warranty, then I wouldn't worry about it unless it gets really bad. Unless you can do it yourself, you're going to pay a ton in labor to get a main seal replaced

i have the same looking leak. i no for sure mine is the front seal from when the phasers were replaced. you can see it leaking from just above where the oil filter is. it does blow all over the underside of the truck and make it look like it is coming from elsewhere. i have learned to live with it. and since i get my truck oiled every year for the canadian winters i really dont mind all the oil blowing around.

Mine has a similar leak. Not enough to hit the ground, yet.

Oh no,

That **** is getting fixed, this is not a Chrysler. Then I would expect leaks before 100k.

I have the tools to do it myself, but if it's under warranty, then it's clearly a defect on Fords product. Dealer said main seal is rare, gotta bring it in to know for sure.

sorry to say but your drain plug gasket may be fixed but that leak at your trans is your rear main seal and im %110 sure. how do i know? i had to do mine. good news is its only around $9 for the part... bad news is you got to pull the transmission and flywheel and use a pick to get it out and tap the new one in. the dealer wont cover it unless your still under your bumper to bumper warenty and can prove all maintnence records.

Then I would go to another dealer..the rear main seal, as well as the Trans input seal IS covered under the power train warranty

Well 17 months after I posted in here my leak has begun to drip. I'm afraid to get quotes to fix it since I might have a heart attack when they tell me the price. I don't have the means to do it myself. Got a feeling it's not going to get fixed anytime soon.
