I've read a lot about people having a squeaky drivers seat in these trucks. I haven't found anything that fixes it other than having the dealer replace the seat or seat pan under warranty. I bought my truck with a squeaky seat and after some looking around I figured out how to fix it.

This is what I did....

Standing outside the driver door reach in with your fingers on the shoulder part of the bottom of the seat. Push your thumbs into the side of the padding and push down until you feel the top of the seat pan. Now that you've found that part you can grab the lip of the seat pan and bend it upward just a little. No lube required!



2/10/12 Update 7 months and counting since I figured this out, still no squeak!

 

Can you show us a pic of what your talking about? I have the same problem and its driving me NUTS!

 

nvm, just figued what u were talking about so i went down and did it and it worked! but i wonder how long its gonna last!

 

this is gonna be tough on a lifted truck lol i need to find a chair to stand on

 

wait the way u have it worded makes it sound like the door is shut... it shouldnt make a difference lol i just woke up my bad

 

I did the same thing with mine but I used a flat bar instead of my fingers. Did this over a year ago and still no squeaky

Thanks for posting this fix. My driver seat started doing this after the warranty expired. As usually you all come through for me again.

Interesting post. My seat squeeks just a bit and the trouble area does seem to be around the edge of the seat pan. I felt the edge of the seat where the pan seems to be, and pushing there does seem to change the squeeking. The pan is very strong and I sure can't bend it with my fingers but did make some kind of change with all my weight pushing on it. 99% of the squeeking has been cured. Would like to see some pics of what others are doing.

 

The fix worked.

As far as pics, it's the part of the seat where you azz lands. I know it doesn't make sense, so take your laptop/iPad to your truck and fellow them as you read the steps. You will say "oh that's it" when you pull the seat plate. You won't realize you are touching it when you apply upward pressure to it.

 

I tried this, but couldn't figure it out. You're pushing up from underneath? I felt springs and that was it.

Any other tips?

 

The seat plate is where your backside rest. The cushion covers the seat plate. The springs are beneath the seat plate.

Now give it a try.

I appreciate the help. The squeaking is annoying. I don't want to bend the wrong part under the seat.

 

Stick your hand between the seat and the back rest. Apply a little pressure when you pull up on the seat plate. The seat plate is where your butt sits.
