Let me know what y'all think!
Hey all! I'm new on here so i wanted to post a picture of my truck and get some feedback on what yall think about it and what else I should do. She's an 05 STX with 285/70/17 BFG ATs and 17 inch Eagle Alloy wheels. I'll soon be getting a set of 35/12.50/17 Cooper STTs and a 3 inch leveling kit and adding a 1 inch larger block to the rear (would love a suspension lift kit but it's not quite in the budget at the moment). I've also got a set of Flowmaster Super 50s. I've got a new set of overlays coming for my front and rear emblem. They'll both be camo with a black Ducks Unlimited logo.

looks good, as blacked out as everything is, i personally think you should do the headlights, tails, and fogs, to match it all. they just stick out to me. just my opinion, looks good though. oh btw a grill would look good

I just found a link where a guy gives a great run through on how to do the headlights.
https://www.f150online.com/forums/ar...eadlights.html I want to do it but it sounds pretty difficult to be honest. |

I would avoid a 3in level as it causes too much strain on your front end. Go with 2.5in at max.

Ha I know exactly what you mean. I had to help my friend put some fog lights on his bumper and we sat there and thought about all those damn wires and finally after couple beers down we said ef it and just took em back

Agree to stay away from the 3 inch u will wear stuff out prematurely. I am trying to do my headlights Monday. Hope they arent too bad as I would rather spend 10 bucks than 130 or so for new ones. Truck looks good though. Wish I had color matched bumpers, just painted the front today and doing the rear tomorrow or Monday. Flat black. I know some won't like it, but its better than Chrome. U thought about 315/70/17 size tires? Slightly smaller but won't rub as much. What backspacing and offset are your wheels? If they aren't close to stock u will rub bad going that large. Something to think about.

I know money is an issue as it is with everyone but try and switch the 3" out to a max of 2.5". I checked my ball joints the other day with a 2" and they are still holding well after 35K miles with my 2" level but are at an angle for sure.
and I agree...paint the headlights or pick up some ebay replicas like I did...just seal them with some silocone when you get them to prevent leaking. I think I spent $119 on mine ;) Great looking stepside! |
