I am not sure what you are talking about. I get that your 4x4 isn't working. What pump are you talking about? You say you checked the actuator was engaging- you're talking about the IWEs at the inner wheel hubs, correct? Bear in mind, I am old and need punctuation and complete sentences to clearly understand.

Q: When you engage your 4x4 do you get a "4x4" light on the dash? If not, you might try tapping on the shift motor (that's on the transfer case) with a non metallic item, like a hammer handle.

Q: Have you checked that all the vacuum lines are holding pressure? Also the two check valves- they should only allow air to pass in one direction.

A very common 4x4 problem is the older design solenoid failing due to water damage. That item is on the passenger side firewall behind the battery. The newer design has a plastic shield over the top.

4x4

ok so bear with me im a not a mechanic so the pump i am talking bout is the vacump pump not from the hub itself i got 10 in on both lines the 4x4 light on the dash comes on every time now i didn't check the solenoids on the firewall the driveshaft can still be moved when i had it up in the air i did not check anything on the hubs but i also replaced a wheel bearing hub a month ago so im really not sure what else im looking for when i had it up in the air i had no power in the front tires the truck sounds like its in 4x4 but its not so the pump that is next to the case has a rod that pushes on a lever when i hook the vacumn up to it it moved freely both ways

if you don't take the time to clearly explain the issue then why should we take the time to try and decipher your post and then help you?

ok i put the leaver in 4x4 when i do that i hear a small bang like its engaging into 4x4 but its not the drive shaft going to the front rear is very hard to turn so i believe it is engaging in the transfer case there is a small vacumn pump on the front rear i checked the vacumn lines coming out of that actuator and it goes both ways moving the leaver on the rear but its still not engaging should i be checking the iwe first or the rear its self thanks

I'l help you out this time, but in your next post you need to use periods, comma's, CAPITAL letters and etc. if you want ayone to help you out. They were trying to tell you this in a nice way. By the way, I'm not of any help to this issue. I was reading through it to see what the fix would be to learn something new.
