I've been wonderin' about this since I picked up my truck about a month ago. This "box" looks to be factory as it clamps onto the mirror mount and is wired via a harness into the truck. The mirror is non auto dimming - which I thought was strange due to the level the truck is optioned to. Anyone know what this is and what it does? TIA

The button in the red square seems to be a push switch that clicks when fully depressed

Its the compass, the button is a reset for your zone of the world for the magnetic deflection.
