4.56s-price too high, or just me?
I've lived in tally my whole life. I would definitely give Mike Helton at nationwide transmission a call. He's a buddies dad and does awesome work. He does all the trannys for most the bog trucks you see at Kelly grade, pudding creek, carabelle etc.
nice truck man. how much lift u got on her? and yea they were one of the 3 shops i called and were the cheapest so im definitely going to be going with them when i do it. they said $1700-$1800 for everything
true that. i dunno if i wanna go with the 6" or gears first. cuz ive got 35's now to fill in the gap. haha yea i feel ya man. i got a loan from florida commerce to get mine so im makin the payments and slowly trying to get my truck how i want hit.but i originally went to wakulla high til i was a jjunior. then transferred to lincoln for baseball my senior yr. im at tcc now and just workin
yea so ive heard haha thanks. thats 2 ppl that have suggested nationwide transmission tho so im leaning towards them
Ditto on the pro. I am a big DIY guy and have built a lot of rigs but when it comes to gears, I have a shop do mine. I've done complete body off restorations but I know my limits and I want to know the capabilities of the person doing the work. And as 4.6 said, if your buddy screws it up, you have no recourse other than to be pissed at him. Those prices are pretty normal too. I am doing a front and rear re-gear and installing TrueTracs at the same time and the whole shebang will run about $3700. Keep in mind you will probably want them to do the rear outer bearings and seals while you are at it.

real nice! its awesome out that way. i know a few ppl that live in the buck lake area.
1600-1800 is the going average most places for parts and install. This should include quality gears, master install kits and the necessary labor.
It goes without saying, don't get cheap here! I payed about 1600 for what I thought was quality and 5 years later have had to replace both axles after they burnt up from a poor gear installation. All is well now, but I learned my lesson to look hard and deep into any shop doing any type of driveline work.

Gear install around my area is $1200 for parts and labor.
