anyone got a winshield strip? i cant decide if i like mine.
back to the subject at hand, i really don't like brows/strips/you-name-it. i have considered doing it to the top AND bottom but i dont think it will good either. the ones that just barely have any curve at all look a lot better than the rainbow looking shapes most people run. i just prefer the overall clean look of my fully tinted windshield. i might do 30% on the whole thing when it comes time to replace the glass due to chips, but thats only because im young and my eyes are still good plus im really good friends with the guy who does my tint, so a 30 pack for the night and a redbull for the job leads to a good time and some custom tint work. lol

I love it! Driving around the Central Valley in the summer time its HOT, keeps the truck cool and the sun out of your face! 5% brow, sits about 3" below the as1 line. For the rest I had a layer of 15% put on all windows. Its perfect for my personal taste/needs.

maybe my next step would be to go to an eye doctor and get a waiver to do my side windows to 20 percent. its already legal for me to tint the back as dark as i want, so maybe i should just slap another layer of 35 on the rear, and redo the front 2 side windows at 20 percent. then the front windows would match the strip, and the back would be a slight bit darker than the front (2 layers of 35 over the privacy glass)
hey tint guru's i have a question, what does 2 layers of 35 equate to? how do you do that math. my guess is 17 percent, i think thats 35 percent of 35, but im not sure thats right.
my friends got a mustang with 2 layers of 35 on it, and weve been trying to figure out what it is for a while now.

30 % of 5 = 1.75%
I'm going to get my windows tinted soon. I'm thinking stock on the back and 20% on the fronts (should match the stock tint pretty well).
Definitely want a strip on the windshield. Always had them on every vehicle. I am squinting in my new truck when the sun's out. Not sure how wide of a strip I want. I had a 12 inch strip on my old caprice, but the windshield was a lot taller.
I'll probably go at least a couple inches below the AS-1 line.

2 inches below the as1 line will cover the dot matrix stuff behind the rear view. i would probably just have the dot matrix stuff covered and then let it fall where it does over the as1 line
I have 5 all the way around, 30 on the windshield and a 5% strip and love it. Sure gets hot with a black truck in Florida and this makes a huge difference...even with the whole windshield done the strip is awesome. Plus you can't see the strip from outside so it looks really clean.
