Question DFW Dealerships best deal on plug change

Just like the title says, anyone in the DFW area please chime in and lets find the best deal for a plug change. I called Town East Ford they want $650.00 plugs and boots, Rockwall Ford around same price. Both also say $100 for each broke plug. I just priced plugs for 75 bucks shipped, boots are 25 shipped. So these guys are charging $550 for labor? YIKES..

I paid $340 at Bankston in Burleson, none broke. I think the broken ones would have been $40 each as they take about 1/2 hour extra, each. That did not include the boots. They get a fortune for the boots, about $10 each.

No, they are not charging $550 for labor. They are marking the parts back up to MSRP. The same Motorcraft plug wires for the older 4.6's that are $75 at Rock Auto are $160 at Ford.

My dealer charged me $10 each for the MC plugs and that was over 2 years ago.

Called North Central Ford, $325.00 plus $100 each broke plug. This may be the best deal so far, it is the fact of leaving it open to how many plugs they decide to break that has me worried. I DO NOT feel comfy with the fact of not knowing exactly what it is going to cost. He said they limit it to a charge of 4 broke plugs..so it cannot cost more than $725.00 LOL..

I had the same fear when I let Bankston do mine, but none broke. This was back when removing them was a much more dreaded process. If by chance you decide to check out Bankston/Burleson, call Landon, one of the service reps. He will take good care of you and knows his stuff. Tell him you are on this site and we sent you.

I understand. You may have some break, but I know another member that drove from Weatherford and had his done at 133,000 miles, none broke. They have had a great success rate.

BTW, if you go, there is an IHOP, McDonalds and Lowe's right next door, so you don't have to just sit and wait.

There are some great eating places, and I agree, was not recommending those. Just stating that they are across the street in walking distance if he is going to be there for 3 hours or so.

I have never been able to walk out of the parking lot without stopping and test driving new vehicles every time I had one of mine in the shop thee.

He could bring some rocks with him and walk to the Chevy dealer and throw some of them.

Or do what I did and find a Ford tech and see if he wants a side job. Cost me $100 and was done at the dealership... Some of them allow their emplyee some time for themselves/famil/friends. Just an idea. Otherwise my best quote up here in MN (I know, not Dallas) was about the same as your best quote... I felt the same way about the unknown total cost.
