Trading in my first truck was tougher than I ever imagined it would be.

It wasnt the easiest thing and still feeling a little crappy. I know I made the right decision for now. sometimes in life you have to make decisions that you just don't want to make but in the end it works out.

Hopefully you'll be in another F150 in no time.

It is tough lettin go. I almost had tears in my eyes when I drove away in my 04 seeing my 96 sitting there at the dealership lot. I think if I ever do get a new truck I will be keeping this on though. No need to got through that again!

My first truck is still sitting out back LOL! I got it almost 13 years ago from my parents. It is a 1989 Bronco 2 that they bought new. My father in law is planning on taking it home soon and fixing her back up for me for his "something to do" project. I can't say no to new paint, etc. She's got 7.5" of lift and 33" BFG mud terrains on her.

My wife and I are in a perpetual battle over my old '97 Ranger, which is the first new truck I ever bought for myself. The thing still runs like a top, has been paid off for years, and is about as cheap of transportation as one could ever hope to find. Plus, after so many miles together, that truck is like an old friend to me -- I could never sell it!

My wife, on the other hand, thinks it's just an annoying old vehicle and bemoans the fact that we have (5) cars and only (2) drivers in our family. She is constantly nagging me about how I need to sell it and just drive my '09 Ranger as my full time daily driver!

FYI -- this is a battle she will never win.........

I can't let go of my big red truck for some of the same reasons... emotional attachment, the money pit it contains, the family is attached and people know me by it... I can't even imagine letting it go. It will just have to go into reserve when I order the new one :o

I'm in the sad position of possibly having to sell my truck as well. I've had it for four years, and aside from the occassional little issue here and there, its been a fantastic truck. I am just not sure how I am going to be able to part ways with her. With gas prices on the rise, money being tight as it is, my pay being all but froze for another two years, a wedding, and possibly kids on the way, it might be time...but why do today, what you can put off til tomorrow Here's to hoping for better luck, cheaper gas, and more money

I'm going thru the same thing, I'm ordering an 11 fx4 next week and I'm having second thoughts about getting rid of mine, I'm selling it to my brother so it will be taken care of and will have a good life but I've put almost 100k miles of my own on it and its like a part of me

I won't be trading my F150 for my next truck. The current plan is to keep it and just keep fixing anything that goes wrong ever. It's going to be my project truck that I'll spend money modding.

When this one is paid off I want to factory order a current MY F250 or possibly F350. I'm getting a bike in a few weeks to save on gas and keep miles off the F150.

Like FX4Life said, people know me by my truck, they recognize it when I pull up and that makes me proud. I could never let her go.

If you can't afford to support the expenses of a simple pickup truck, how the hell do you expect to afford the much higher expenses of supporting kids ?
I would strongly suggest that you keep that possibility on the back burner until your much better situated financially.
On a side note. I have done the kid thing 32 yrs ago and I'll take a truck any day ! A trucks is less trouble, alot more fun, less expensive and you can legally get rid of it anytime you want.
