+2.. just read another thread about this same thing~

I was wondering if the two part drive shaft and carrier barring would be the cause of that.
Do they make a one piece for a 06 4x2 s-cab 6 1/2?
I have seen a 1 piece on a crew cab short bed 4x4 though.

Thanks.

If your truck is moving the driveshaft will never stop spinning unless it comes disconnected from the rear axle.

I know exactly what you're talking about. If you throw the stock tune back in it I bet its fine.....no clunk. I think it's the converter lockup points in the tunes in the Edge. It's bad enough that when I tow my toy hauler I return it back to stock. Try it on stock and see what happens.

I reset the canned level 3 and reset tire size and less shift firmness.
Seems to be a bit better.

Only way for there to be slop is a worn out universal joint .... or you are feeling a loose back lash setting in the ring and pinion (inside the rear axle). My '77 has always had the feeling and it's got likely at least 30 degrees of pinion slack where you can turn the driveshaft without the truck moving and trans in neutral. It has the 9" rear.

Super Duty Lag

My stock F150 has had that lag since it was new. It reminds me EXACTLY of the 'Super Duty Lag' that I had with my F250. Coming into a stop felt like someone bumped you from the rear. I have not checked this F150 drive shaft yet, but the fix for the F250 was to grease the drive shaft splines. Apparently the drive shaft would bind enough to cause a catch. Possibly the same issue?

I've had similar symptoms with a trans mount going bad. Just something else to take a look at while your greasing the splines.
